Peak District Woods, (2017), is a set of images that interrogates the boundaries of key sublime texts by incorporating varying degrees of colour manipulation in order to challenge what can and can't be sublime. Woodland is something that key sublime practitioners and theorists have explored as a trigger of the sublime experience and the colour palette of the images has also been chosen with sublime theory in mind.
"Among colours, such as are soft, or cheerful, except a strong red...are unfit to produce grand images" - Edmund Burke, 1757
